Canadia raises rates, remains in lower ranks

Canadia Bank has raised interest rates for terms of 1 year and more for deposits in both KHR and USD by 0.25 percentage point. This goes for fixed term deposits with payout at maturity as well as for monthly payouts (note: Canadia pays out quarterly for terms of 3 years and more).

When it comes to fixed deposits with a term of 1, 2 or 3 years and monthly payout, Canadia ia now more in line with ABA and ACLEDA, although all these banks don’t offer the highest rates in the market. Only Wing Bank has lower rates for 1 and 2 year deposits with a monthly payout. For a clear comparison where you can see that all of these banks are in the lower ranks, see our line graph.

For fixed deposits of 1 and 2 years in USD with maturity payout, Canadia now is even slightly better than both ABA and ACLEDA. However, compare their rates to those of LOLC and you can see LOLC offers a full three percentage points more!
